Answer:

The value of f(x) at x=6 is  f(6) = 218

Therefore, the correct option is <u>D) 218</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to solve the value of f(x) at x=6

Given step function is f(x)=6x^{2}+2 for the range of  -6 < x < 9

( 6 is in this range)

Substitute the value x=6 in f(x)=6x^{2}+2 :

f(x) = 6x^{2} + 2

f(6) = 6(6)^{2} + 2

f(6) = 6\times 36+ 2

f(6) = 216+ 2

f(6) = 218

Hence, the value of f(x) at x=6 is  f(6) = 218

Therefore, the correct option is <u>D) 218</u>

After trying to do it the hard way, i remembered the easy way.

substitution:

because x = 6 and 6 is in the range of -6 < x < 9, we only need the equation 6x^(2) + 2

f(x) = 6x^(2) + 2
f(6) = 6(6)^(2) + 2
f(6) = 6(36) + 2
f(6) = 216 + 2
f(6) = 218

Consider the following functions. f={(−4,−1),(1,1),(−3,−2),(−5,2)} and g={(1,1),(2,−3),(3,−1)}: Find (f−g)(1).
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

0

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtraction of functions has the property:

  • (f−g)(1) = f(1) - g(1)

f={(−4,−1),(1,1),(−3,−2),(−5,2)}  has (1,1) means that f maps 1 to 1, therefore f(1) = 1

g={(1,1),(2,−3),(3,−1)}  has (1,1), means that g maps 1 to 1, therefore g(1)=1

As a Result, since (f−g)(1) = f(1) - g(1), we have (f−g)(1) = 1-1=0

Answer:54

Step-by-step explanation:

Pentagon has 5 sides

n=5

Sum of interior angles=180(n-2)

Sum of interior angles=180(5-2)

Sum of interior angles=180x3

Sum of interior angles=540

Size of each interior angle =540/n

Size of each interior angle =540/5

Size of each interior angle=108

x=108/2

x=54

Suppose a lake has a surface area of about 748 acres and an average depth of about 18 feet. About how many cubic feet are in the
zloy xaker [14]

Answer: There are 13464 cubic feet in the lake.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Surface area of lake = 748 acres

Average depth of lake = 18 feet

So, Volume of lake would be

Surface area of lake × Average depth

=748\times 18\\\\=13464

Hence, there are 13464 cubic feet in the lake.
