Answer:

Red apple is opaque. It appear red because it reflects red light.

Explanation:

An opaque object is an object through which the light rays can not be passed and we can not see from that object while transparent object allows the passage of light.

Hence red apple is unable to pass light, so it is a opaque object.

Light is the combination of seven color rays. Different object absorbs different rays and reflect back other rays. The color of ray they reflect back is the color that we see.

Hence red apple looks red because it absorbs all color except red.

It is opaque because you can't see anything on the other side of the apple.

An apple is red because of the frequency of light shining on it makes it seem that it is red, as it is reflected. It seems it is red because it reflects infrared waves.

How many moles of oxygen (O2) are present in 33. 6 L of the gas at 1 atm and 0°C? 1. 5 2 22. 4 32.
oee [108]

The number of moles of oxygen in the gas is 1.5 L.

The correct option is (A).

What are moles?

The mole is the International System of Units' foundation unit of material quantity.

Given,

The volume of gas is 33.6 L

Pressure is 1 atm.

Temperature is 0°C

Molar gas volume is 22.4 L

There is no temperature and pressure is 1 atm.

By formula of moles, volume is divided by molar mass

\bold{\dfrac{33.6}{22.4 } =1.5\; mole}

Thus, option A is correct. 1.5 L.

What is the best description of what Becquerel observed in his experiment?
myrzilka [38]

The answer is: D.unstable nuclei emitting high-energy particles as they formed more stable compositions.

Those high-energy particles are alpha particles , beta particles , gamma radiation.

For example, the decay chain of ²³⁸U is called the uranium series.

Decay start with U-238 and ends with Pb-206. There are several alpha and beta minus decays.

Antoine Henri Becquerel (1852 – 1908) was a French physicist and the first person to discover evidence of radioactivity.

Becquerel wrapped fluorescing crystal (uranium salt potassium uranyl sulfate) in a cloth, along with the photographic plate and a copper Maltese cross.

Several days later, he discovered that a image of the cross appeared on the plate.

The uranium salt was emitting radiation.

Because of this discovery, Becquerel won a Nobel Prize for Physics in 1903, which he shared with Marie Curie and Pierre Curie.

What mass of H₂ is needed to react with 8.75 g of O₂ according to the following equation: O2(g) + H2(g) → H₂O(g)?
FromTheMoon [43]

Explanation:

For reacting with 8.75 grams of oxygen, 1.08 grams of hydrogen is required.

The given balanced equation has been:

\rm O_2\;+\;2\;H_2\;\rightarrow\;H_2OO2+2H2→H2O

From the equation, 1 mole of oxygen reacts with 2 mole of hydrogen to give 1 mole of water.

The mass of oxygen has been: 8.75 g,

Moles = \rm \dfrac{weight}{molecular\;weight}molecularweightweight

Moles of oxygen = \rm \dfrac{8.75}{32}328.75

Moles of oxygen = 0.27 mol

Since,

1 mole Oxygen = 2 mole hydrogen

0.21 mol oxygen = 0.54 mol hydrogen

Mass of hydrogen = moles \times× molecular weight

Mass of hydrogen = 0.54 \times× 2

Mass of hydrogen = 1.08 grams.

Thus, for reacting with 8.75 grams of oxygen, 1.08 grams of hydrogen is required.

Several balloons are inflated with helium to a volume of 0.75 L at 27°C. One of the balloons was found several
defon

Answer:

V₂ = 0.74 L

Explanation:

Given data:

Initial volume of balloon = 0.75 L

Initial temperature of balloon = 27°C (27+273.15 K = 300.15 K)

Final volume of balloon = ?

Final temperature = 22°C (22+273.15 K = 295.15 k)

Solution:

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

V₁ = Initial volume

T₁ = Initial temperature

V₂ = Final volume

T₂ = Final temperature

Now we will put the values in formula.

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

V₂ = V₁T₂/T₁

V₂ = 0.75 L × 295.15 k / 300.15 K

V₂ = 221.36 L.K / 300.15 K

V₂ = 0.74 L

The given problem is solved through the Charles Law.

According to this law, The volume of given amount of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature at constant number of moles and pressure.

Mathematical expression:

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂
