The method of losing weight and regaining the weight and again doing dieting is known as yo-yo dieting. In this process weight is lost and then regained like that of an yo-yo.

However, this dieting is not beneficial. In this dieting the leptin hormone increases and stores the fat and compels you to eat less. However, as one loses the weight the hormone level gets decreased and increases appetite ultimately leading to gaining of fat.
