Answer:

C3H8

Explanation:

Propane, also known as E944 or CH3-CH2-CH3, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alkanes. These are acyclic branched or unbranched hydrocarbons having the general formula CnH2n+2 , and therefore consisting entirely of hydrogen atoms and saturated carbon atoms.

C3 H8, you can count the amount of Cs and the amount of Hs. Hope this helps. Apologies for a not very detailed explanation.

Classify these substances as acidic, basic, or neutral: vinegar, baking soda, tomato juice, sugar. A) vinegar-acidic Baking soda
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

A) vinegar-acidic Baking soda-basic Tomato juice-acidic Sugar-neutral.

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, it is widely acknowledged that vinegar is a diluted and processed form of acetic acid which is of course acidic as well as tomato juice which has a pH of about 4.2. Baking soda, which is chemically known as sodium bicarbonate has a pH greater than 7, for that is reason it is basic. Finally, sugar, is known by its neutrality, for which its pH is about 7, for that reason it is neutral. In such a way, answer is A) vinegar-acidic Baking soda-basic Tomato juice-acidic Sugar-neutral.

Regards.

Why did so many people move to California in the 1840's
lisabon 2012 [21]

In 1840, California was part of Mexico and gold wasn't discovered (in large quantities) until 1848. CA had a very small population in 1840 with even fewer foreigners including Americans, English/Irish, Russians, etc.

There wasn't much migration to CA in 1840, but those that did migrate, went there basically to get away from "civilization" and make a new start on life. Mexican authorities did not have much control so CA was pretty much self-governing.

There you go Hope that helped.

How many moles of hydrogen are required to make 32 moles of water?
NNADVOKAT [17]
You multiply 32 by 2, since there are two hydrogens in every water molecule.

Combustion analysis of toluene, a common organic solvent, gives 5.27 mg of co2 and 1.23 mg of h2o. if the compound contains only
kherson [118]
C7H8 First, determine the number of relative moles of each element we have and the molar masses of the products. atomic mass of carbon = 12.0107 atomic mass of hydrogen = 1.00794 atomic mass of oxygen = 15.999 Molar mass of CO2 = 12.0107 + 2 * 15.999 = 44.0087 Molar mass of H2O = 2 * 1.00794 + 15.999 = 18.01488 We have 5.27 mg of CO2, so 5.27 / 44.0087 = 0.119749 milli moles of CO2 And we have 1.23 mg of H2O, so 1.23 / 18.01488 = 0.068277 milli moles of H2O Since there's 1 carbon atom per CO2 molecule, we have 0.119749 milli moles of carbon. Since there's 2 hydrogen atoms per H2O molecules, we have 2 * 0.068277 = 0.136554 milli moles of hydrogen atoms. Now we need to find a simple integer ratio that's close to 0.119749 / 0.136554 = 0.876937 Looking at all fractions n/m where n ranges from 1 to 10 and m ranges from 1 to 10, I find a closest match at 7/8 = 0.875 with an error of only 0.001937, the next closest match has an error over 6 times larger. So let's go with the 7/8 ratio. The numerator in the ratio was for carbon atoms, and the denominator was for hydrogen. So the empirical formula for toluene is C7H8.
