Given dimensions of a rectangular garden are:

length = 2(x+6) feet

width = 3.5x feet

using the distributive property on length we get, length = 2x+12

Perimeter of a rectangle is 2(length+width)

So, P = 2(2x+12+3.5x)

Solving it we get,

P = 2(5.5x +12)   ..............adding like terms

P = (2\times5.5)+(2\times12) .............multiplying and adding

P = 11x+24

So, perimeter is 11x+24 feet. This value of fencing will be needed.

Which explains whether the sum of 0.52 +0.61 is less than or greater than 1?
elixir [45]

Answer:

C. The sum is greater than 1 because the sum shades more than one hundredths grid.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The sum of 0.52 + 0.61

= 0.52 + 0.61

= 1.13

The sum of 0.52 + 0.61 is greater than 1 with a value of 0.13

0.52 + 0.61 > 1

There are 10 tenth in 1 and 100 hundredth in 1

The sum of 0.52 + 0.61 will give 100 hundredth + 13 hundredth

The sum is greater than 1 because the sum shades more than one hundredths grid.

Picture of a hundredth grid is attached for better understanding

From the picture, 4 hundredth is shaded that is 0.04

What is the present value of $3,000 per year for 9 years discounted back to the present at 10 percent?
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

$17,277.07

Step-by-step explanation:

Present value of annuity is the present worth of cash flow that is to be received in the future, if future value is known, rate of interest is r and time is n then PV of annuity is

PV of annuity = \frac{P[1-(1+r)^{-n}]}{r}

                      = \frac{3000[1-(1+0.10)^{-9}]}{0.10}

                      = \frac{3000[1-(1.10)^{-9}]}{0.10}

                      = \frac{3000[1-0.4240976184]}{0.10}

                      = \frac{3000(0.5759023816)}{0.10}

                      = \frac{1,727.7071448}{0.10}

                      = 17,277.071448 ≈ $17,277.07
