<span>Several important changes took place in the late 19th century. First, around 1870, Germany became the new leader in European industry. Germany far exceeded the production of any other European nation in chemicals and electrical equipment. The nation continued to expand its trade networks and soon enjoyed a flood of new plants and factories. Great Britain tried to retake its position as industrial leader, but Germany would not give up its newly acquired title so easily. 2- How were Native Americans harmed by the “encounter”?
den301095 [7]

Answer:

Native American populations declined rapidly due to a lack of immunity to disease

Explanation:

At that time, many Europeans who came to American continent carried out viruses that could cause diseases such as  smallpox, influenza, and measles within their body.

When they "Encountered" The native Americans, these viruses passed on to the Natives and infected them.

Because the natives have lack of immunity to disease (they never experienced diseases like that in their life) , the effect to their body is much greater compared to the Europeans. This led to large amount of death among Native Americans.
