Which statements describe the energy in a food web? Check all that apply. When an organism eats another organism, it loses energ
Neko [114]

Answer:  Producers have the greatest amount of available energy.

When an organism eats another organism, it gains energy.

Explanation:

A food chain is a linear sequence of transfer of food and energy when one organism is eaten by the other organism. A food web is the interconnection of two or more food chains. This happens when one organism belong to one food chain also consume organisms of same food chain or other food chain. A food chain includes trophic levels on the basis of the mode of feeding of the living beings.

Among the options given, Producers have the greatest amount of available energy. and

When an organism eats another organism, it gains energy. are correct.

Producers are the organism which are capable of producing their food either through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis. They are present at the base level of the food chain. They consist of large amount of energy as compared to all the trophic levels in the food chain.

When one organism eats other organism it gains energy because of the assimilation and digestion of the organism as food.

A hammer taps on the end of a 4.10-m-long metal bar at room temperature. A microphone at the other end of the bar picks up two p
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Speed of sound inside metal is ≅ 8200 \frac{m}{s}

Explanation:

Given :

Length of metal bar x = 4.10 m

From general velocity equation,

 v = \frac{x}{t}

Where v = speed of sound in air = 343 \frac{m}{s}

For finding time from above equation,

  t = \frac{x}{v}

 t = \frac{4}{343}

t = 0.01166 sec

Since pulses are separated by  t_{o} =  11.1 \times 10^{-3} = 0.0111 sec

So we take time difference,

\Delta t = t_{} -t_{o}  = 0.0005

So speed of sound in metal is,

 v = \frac{x}{\Delta t }

 v = \frac{4.10}{0.0005}

 v = 8200 \frac{m}{s}

When you lift a book from the ground to your desk, what kind of work do you do negative or positive by lifting the book what do
skelet666 [1.2K]
It would be kinetic energy. Let's say the book is weighs 10 Newtons you need to use a force of 10 Newtons to lift the book. In other words it's positive. As you move the book you're giving it energy. Namely potential energy which will turn to kinetic energy if you let it go. So you're changing it's position and energy.
