Answer/Explanation:

Pollution during the industrial revolution caused trees to become covered with soot, making them darker. This dark appearance meant that the peppered moth, which usually had a light colour, was clearly visible against the tree. This meant it was easier for predators to identify. As a result, their numbers decreased because they were an easier target.

However, there was also a rarer form of the moth, which was dark in colour. These were initially very rare. However, because of the change in the tree colour owing to the industrial revolution, these moths were better suited to the environment, as they were more camouflaged against the dark tree. This meant it was easier for them to avoid predators, and so they were more likely to survive to reproductive age and pass on the genes that produce the dark colour.  This meant that the dark moths increased in number.

What are brodmann areas and how do they relate to the neurological deficits that occur as the result of stroke?.
Viefleur [7K]

The Brodmann areas are a method of mapping the cortex and its distinct functions that was developed by Korbinian Brodmann, after whom the areas are named.

Korbinian Brodmann (November 17, 1868 – August 22, 1918) was a German neurologist best known for classifying the cerebral cortex into 52 distinct regions based on cytoarchitectonic (histological) characteristics. These areas are now commonly known as Brodmann areas.

The Brodmann classification divides the cortex into approximately 52 sequentially numbered areas, though some regions have since been subdivided and others are only found in non-human primates.

It is in charge of motor movements such as contralateral finger/hand/wrist or orofacial movements, learned motor sequences, breathing control, and voluntary blinking. The primary visual cortex (Brodmann area 17) is located on the medial surface of the occipital lobe, in and on either side of the calcarine sulcus.

Which macromolecule forms a double layer as the primary structure of cell membranes?
OlgaM077 [116]
Answer;
Phospholipid.

Phospholipid forms a double layer as the primary structure of cell membranes.

Explanation;
Cell membranes contains of lipids (phospholipids and cholesterol), proteins and carbohydrates groups that are attached to some of the lipids and proteins.
Phospholipids are composed of a polar head and non-polar (hydrophobic) tail. They line up such that the heads and the tail groups are side by side to form a single layer due to the interactions between the head groups and the tail groups. Two of these layers line up with the hydrophobic tail groups facing each other to prevent the hydrophobic groups away from the polar head groups of other phospholipids and from the water in the surrounding environment.
