Answer:

Gas: Takes the shape and volume of an entire container.

Solid: Has a fixed volume and shape.

Plasma: Charged particles that do not have a definite shape or volume.

Liquid: Assumes the shape of the part of the container from the bottom up.

Explanation:

Due to weak / negligible intermolecular or interatomic forces the gases tends to occupy the shape of the container. Hence, they are said to be having no definit shape and volume.

Due to presence of stronger intermolecular forces as compared to gases liquids have definite volume but they don't have definite shape therefore, adopts the shape of the container from the bottom up.

Solid state of matter is characterized by its hardness, definite shape and volume, rigidity and mechanical strength. They have the strongest intermolecular forces among the molecules.

Plasma is said to be the fourth state of matter, which is the mixture of +ve ions, -ve electrons and neutral particles. It shares majority of the properties of gas state.

How many grams of NaI are needed to prepare 400.0 mL of 0.0500 M NaI solution?
Simora [160]

Answer:

3g of NaI is needed to prepare 400.0 mL of 0.0500 M NaI solution.

Explanation:

A 0.0500M solution means that is 0.0500 moles of NaI per every 1000 mL of solution. Thus, to prepare 400mL:

\frac{400mL}{1000mL}x0.0500moles=0.0200moles

Also, the molar mass of NaI is 127g/mol + 23g/mol = 150g/mol

Consequently, multiplying the molar mass of NaI by the moles the necessary mass is obtained:

150\frac{g}{mol}x0.0200moles = 3g

A sample of calcium oxide has mass of 2.80 g. The molar mass of CaO is 58.08 g/mold how many moles of CaO does this sample conta
finlep [7]
Hi!

To convert grams to moles, you need to divide the amount (grams) of your substance by its molar mass, both of which are given to you.

28 g CaO / 58.08 g/mol CaO = 0.4820936639 moles of CaO
(And 28 contains two significant digits, so you will round this to 0.48 moles.)

Good luck!

boyakko [2]

Answer:

2 Hg (g) + o2 ---> 2 H2o

equilibrium constant

K = (c) (d) / (a)(b)

K= ( H2o)²/(He) ²(o2)
