We FOIL it, multiplying firsts, outers, inners, and lasts.

(4x+3)(2x-5)

= (4x)(2x) + (4x)(-5) + (3)(2x) + (3)(-5)

= 8x² - 20x + 6x - 15

= 8x² -14x - 15

Answer: 8x² -14x - 15

Answer:

8x^{2} - 14x - 15

Step-by-step explanation:

(4x + 3) (2x - 5)

you multiply everything in the second parentheses by the first number in the first parentheses

write those numbers down

then multiply the number in the second parentheses again by the second factor in the first parentheses

(4x) (2x - 5)

4x · 2x = 8x²

8x²

4x · -5 = -20x

8x² - 20x

that's the first part of the equation

then, moving on

(3) (2x - 5)

3 · 2x = 6x

6x

3 · -5 = -15

6x - 15

then, put them together and you get

8x² - 20x + 6x - 15

add up all the like terms, in this case, the x ones

-20x + 6x = -14x

then, your answer would be:

8x² - 14x - 15

Does (-2)^n/( 3^n+1) converge or diverge?
hodyreva [135]
\left|\dfrac{(-2)^n}{3^n+1}\right|=\dfrac{2^n}{3^n+1}

As n\to\infty, the sequence a_n=\left(\dfrac23\right)^n converges to zero.

If you're talking about the infinite series

\displaystyle\sum_{n\ge0}\dfrac{(-2)^n}{3^n+1}

well we've shown by comparison that this series must also converge because we know any geometric series \sum\limits_n r^n will converge as long as |r|.

F(x)=x^2-2x-7 <br> given the polynomial function find f(-5)
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

f(-5)=28

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=x²-2x-7

f(-5) means that we have to replace x by -5.

f(-5)=(-5)²-2(-5)-7=25+10-7=25+3=28

What is 2X to the power of 3 divided by -8X to the power of 4?
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer: 8 = 23 (-8)4 = (23)4 = 212

1/(2048x)

Step-by-step explanation:Negative number raised to an even power is positive

For example let's look at (-7)6 , where (-7) , a negative number, is raised to 6 , an even exponent :

(-7)6 can be written as (-7)•(-7)•(-7)•(-7)•(-7)•(-7)

Now, using the rule that says minus times minus is plus, (-7)6 can be written as (49)•(49)•(49) which in turn can be written as (7)•(7)•(7)•(7)•(7)•(7) or 76 which is positive.

We proved that (-7)6 is equal to (7)6 which is a positive number

Using the same arguments as above, replacing (-7) by any negative number, and replacing the exponent 6 by any even exponent, we proved which had to be proved

Dividing exponential expressions :  x3 divided by x4 = x(3 - 4) = x(-1) = 1/x1 = 1/x

Final result :

1/2048x
