Emotional agitation causes an emotional imbalance in the brain and a state of confusion is caused. The physical consequence of the same is an increase in adrenaline in the body. This leads to a state of rage in the body, and a person becomes ready to "fight or flight", in order to save himself.

Agitation is characterized as a state of anxiousness, nervousness which effect directly and in-directly body in multiple ways. As mentioned, emotional agitation is linked with emotional disturbance which can cause upset the hormonal balance in body and activates fight and flight responses as a reaction. Agitation could happen due to personal, social and environment discomfort and distress.
