Sink. This is because the density (mass divided by volume) is greater than that of water, and anything that has a greater density than water sinks while anything with a lower density than water floats. Hope this helps.

<u>Answer:</u> The object will float on water.

<u>Explanation:</u>

A substance having more density will sink at the bottom and the substance having less density will float at the top.

We know that:

Density of water = 1g/cm^3

If the density of object is more than the density of water, it will sink. And if the density of object is less than the density of water, it will float.

To calculate density of a substance, we use the equation:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{\text{Mass of a substance}}{\text{Volume of a substance}}

We are given:

Volume of object = 77cm^3

Mass of object = 65 g

Putting values in above equation, we get:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{65g}{77cm^3}=0.844g/cm^3

As, the density of object is less than the density of water, it will float on water.

How many sulfur atoms are generated when 9.42 moles of H2S react according to the following equation: 2H2S+SO2→3S+2H2O
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

A) 8.51 × 10²⁴

Explanation:

1. Gather all the information

            2H₂S + SO₂ ⟶ 3S + 2H₂O

n/mol:   9.42

2. Calculate the moles of S atoms

The molar ratio is 3 mol S:2 mol H₂S

\text{Moles of S} = \text{9.42 mol H$_{2}$S} \times \dfrac{\text{3 mol S }}{\text{2 mol H$_{2}$S }} = \text{14.13 mol S}

3. Calculate the atoms of S

\text{Atoms of S } = \text{14.13 mol S} \times \dfrac{6.022 \times 10^{23}\text{ S atoms}}{\text{1 mol S}} = \mathbf{8.51 \times 10^{24}}\textbf{ S atoms}

Which is a cause of polarity in water molecules? partial negative charge on the hydrogen atoms partial positive charge on the ox
Bumek [7]

Answer:

high electronegativity difference between oxygen and hydrogen

Explanation:

The electronegativity value of O and H are 3.5 and 2.1 respectively. The electronegativity difference of the O-H bond in H₂O is 1.4.

  • When the elctronegativity difference between two atoms in bond is below 0.5 the bond is nonpolar covalent.
  • When the elctronegativity difference between two atoms in bond is between 0.5 and 2.0 the bond is polar covalent.
  • When the elctronegativity difference between two atoms in bond is above 0.5 the bond is ionic.

Thus the O-H is a polar covalent bond. This explains the polarity in water molecules.
