~Hello There!~

\frac{m}{s} =\frac{2}{5}

Rearrange for s

s = \frac{5m}{2}

After 8 years, the new equation would be:

\frac{m+8}{s+8} =\frac{1}{2}

Cross multiply

2m+16 = s+8

Subtract 8

2m+8=s

Substitute old equation

2m+8 = \frac{5m}{2}

Solve to get m as 16.

s = 40.

Their current ages are 16 and 40 and the different is 24 years. Therefore, Caitlin is correct.

Hope This Helps You!

Good Luck :)

Have A Great Day ^_^

____ [38]

Answer:

The mean is 4.88 hours / day

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the mean we just add the values and divide by the number of items (in this case we add the hours and divide by the number of days)

so the equation would be

\frac{1.7+7.7+8.3+1.6+5.1}{5}=4.88

Are these(4,1) 1,-3) (2,0) solutions to this graph?
kogti [31]
(4,1) : no because the line is solid.
(1,-3) : yes because the line is not solid.
(2,0) : no because the line is solid.

Solid lines represent < or >, and if a point is on the line directly, it’s not included in the solution set.

25 pts and a mark for real answers. Help!! A store is having a sale on chocolate chips and walnuts. For 5 pounds of chocolate ch
kozerog [31]

Answer:

Each pound of chocolate chips costs $ 1.5 and each pound of walnuts cost $ 3.75 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, each pound of  chocolate chips costs  $ x and each pound of walnuts costs $ y.

Then,  according to the question,

5x + 6y = 30 --------------(1)   and,

3x + 2y = 12 ----------------(2)

Multiplying (2) by 3 we get,

9x + 6y = 36 ---------------------(3)

Deducting  (1) from  (3) we get,

4x = 6

⇒ x = 1.5 ----------------------(4)

From (4), putting the value of x in (2) , we get,

2y = 7.5

⇒ y = 3.75 ---------------------------(5)
