Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

Since F is the midpoint of EG, EF and FG are equal. We know that FG is 4 units, so EF must be 4 units. We also know that FH and EF make EH, so we substitute the values that we have.

FH + EF = EH

6 + 4 = EH

EH = 10

HELP ASAP NO LINKS PLS (OR THEY WILL BE REPORTED) SIMPLE ANSWER PLS
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

These techniques for elimination are preferred for 3rd order systems and higher.  They use "Row-Reduction" techniques/pivoting and many subtle math tricks to reduce a matrix to either a solvable form or perhaps provide an inverse of a matrix (A-1)of linear equation AX=b.  Solving systems of linear equations (n>2) by elimination is a topic unto itself and is the preferred method.  As the system of equations increases, the "condition" of a matrix becomes extremely important.  Some of this may sound completely alien to you.  Don't worry about these topics until Linear Algebra when systems of linear equations (Rank 'n')  become larger than 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Just to add a bit more information, "Elimination" Can have a variety of other interpretations.  Elimination techniques typically refer to 'row reduction' to achieve 'row echelon form.'  Do not worry if you have not heard of these terms.  They are used in Linear Algebra when referring to "Elimination techniques"

Gaussian Elimination

Gauss-Jordan Elimination

LU-Decomposition

QR-Decomposition

Substitution is the preferred method for 2 equations in 2 unknowns.  The constants are unimportant other than having a non-zero determinant.  It is always easy to find multiplicative factors using LCMs of one variable or the other to allow substitution into the other equation:

Example:

4X + 5Y = 9

5X -  4Y = 1

Notice that 20 is a LCM of either the X or Y variable.  So multiply the first by 4 and the second by 5 and then adding the two (Y's will drop out allowing for substitution)

4(4X + 5Y = 9)

5(5X -  4Y = 1)

Multiplying to produce the LCM factors:

16X + 20Y = 36

25X -  20Y = 5

Adding the equations

41X = 41

X = 1

Substitution into either equation yields

Y = 1

Elimination techniques are preferred for Rank-n>3

hram777 [196]

Answer:

The lower bound for a 90% confidence interval is 0.2033

Step-by-step explanation:

In a sample with a number n of people surveyed with a probability of a success of \pi, and a confidence level of 1-\alpha, we have the following confidence interval of proportions.

\pi \pm z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In which

z is the zscore that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{\alpha}{2}.

For this problem, we have that:

n = 40361, \pi = \frac{8337}{40361} = 0.2066

90% confidence level

So \alpha = 0.1, z is the value of Z that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{0.1}{2} = 0.95, so Z = 1.645.

The lower limit of this interval is:

\pi - z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}} = 0.2066 - 1.645\sqrt{\frac{0.2066*0.7934}{40361}} = 0.2033

The lower bound for a 90% confidence interval is 0.2033

Aidan has 20 ft of fence with which to build a rectangular dog run. What is the maximum area he can enclose?
butalik [34]
Assuming this Fence enclosment will be in the shape of a rectangle we will use the equation used to find the area of a rectangle, b×h=a

Using this formula we then must pick out factors used to create, in which the perimeter will add up to 20

·5,5,5,5 (25)
·8,2,8,2 (16)
·6,4,6,4 (24)

using this we can learn<span> that the maximum area that can be exclosed by this is 25, because the 2 perimiter lengths that define this rectangle would be 5 and 5.

</span>b(5)×h(5)=25(a)

therefore, your answer is 25 Units
