Tickets to the concert were $2.50 for adults and $1 for students. $1200 was collected and 750 tickets were sold. Write a system
Archy [21]

Answer: 300 adults and 450 children

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of adults be x and the number of students be y , then

x + y = 750 ........................... equation 1

the cost of a ticket for adult is $2.50 , that means for x adults , the cost is $2.50x . Also , the cost of ticket for student is $1 , this means that the cost of ticket for y students is $y , writing this in equation form , we have

2.5x + y = 1200 ............................ equation 2

Therefore : the system of linear equations that can be used to find how many adults and how many students attended the concert is

x + y = 750

2.5x + y = 1200

solving the system of linear equation by substitution method , from equation 1 make x the subject of the formula , that is

x = 750 - y ....................... equation 3

substitute x = 750 - y into equation 2 , that is

2.5 ( 750 - y ) + y = 1200

1875 - 2.5y + y = 1200

1875 - 1.5y = 1200

1.5y = 1875 - 1200

1.5y = 675

y = 675/1.5

y = 450

substitute y = 450 into equation 3 , we have

x = 750 - y

x = 750 - 450

x = 300

Therefore , 300 adults and 450 children entered

You will need 90 feet of fencing to put all the way around a rectangular garden. The width of the garden is 10 feet. What is the
WITCHER [35]
If it is a rectangle then the sides of the width would be the same. Also with the sides of the length. So add the widths, 10+10=20. Subtract 20 from 90, 90-20=70. Divide 70 by 2, 70÷2=35.
 The length would be 35 feet.

Reference attached image for the problem.Please show your work for finding the partial area.
-Dominant- [34]

To find the area of a sector of a circle use the next formula:

A=\frac{\theta}{360º}*\pi *r^2

As the given circle has a outside angle 90º (it is not part of the sector of the circle) subtract the 90º from 360º (total angle of a circle) to find the angle of the sector:

\theta=360º-90º=270º

Find the area of the sector with angle 270º:

\begin{gathered} A=\frac{270º}{360º}*3.14*(11in)\placeholder{⬚}^2 \\  \\ A=0.75*3.14*121in^2 \\  \\ A=284.955in^2 \end{gathered}Then, the approximate area of the given sector of a circle is 284.955 square inches

Answer:

T(2, -7) = (4, -10)

Step-by-step explanation:

T(x, y) = (x + 2, y - 3)

T(2, -7) = (2 + 2, -7 - 3)

T(2, -7) = (4, -10)
