A Fleas can jump up a distance as large as 33 cm horizontally in a single leap (they are only 0.3 mm in size!). What is their la
Alex Ar [27]

Answer:

Launch velocity of the fleas = 1.80 m/s

Explanation:

Optimal launch angle is the angle that guarantees the maximum horizontal distance covered.

Optimum launch angle = 45°

The horizontal distance covered by a projectile is given as Range

R = (u² sin 2θ)/g

u = initial velocity of the projectile (flea) = ?

R = range = 33 cm = 0.33 m

θ = 45°

2θ = 2 × 45° = 90°

Sin 90° = 1

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

R = (u²/g)

u² = Rg = 0.33 × 9.8 = 3.234

u = 1.80 m/s

Hope this helps!!!

if you wanted to increase the energy of a wave but you had to leave the wavelength the same what might you do
Blizzard [7]

Answer:

Increase the amplitude

Explanation:

The energy conveyed by a wave is directly proportional to the square of its amplitude. Thus; E ∝ A²

This means that increasing the amplitude will lead to an increase in the energy.

Now, the amplitude of a wave is the height of a wave from it's highest point known as the peak, to the lowest point on the wave known as the trough whereas wavelength refers to the length of a wave from one peak to the next.

This means that increasing the amplitude has no effect on the wavelength.

If the action force is the swimmer pushing water in the leftward direction, what is the reaction force?
Sphinxa [80]
  • According to Newton's Third Law of Motion, to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction; action and reaction act on different bodies.
  • Here, the action force is in the leftward direction, so the reaction will be in the opposite direction.
  • If the action force is the swimmer pushing water in the leftward direction, then the reaction force is in the rightward direction.
  • And the reaction force will be given by the water on the swimmer.

<u>Answer</u><u>:</u>

<u>The </u><u>reaction </u><u>force </u><u>is </u><u>the </u><u>water </u><u>pushing </u><u>the </u><u>swimmer </u><u>in </u><u>the </u><u>rightward </u><u>direction</u><u>.</u>

Hope you could get an idea from here.
