Imagine that two balls, a basketball and a much larger exercise ball, are dropped from a parking garage. If both the mass and ra
pashok25 [27]

Here if we assume that there is no air friction on both balls then we can say

F = mg

now the acceleration is given as

F = ma = mg

a = g

so here both the balls will have same acceleration irrespective of size and mass

so we can say that to find out the time of fall of ball we can use

y = \frac{1}{2}gt^2

t = \sqrt{\frac{2y}{g}}

now from above equation we can say that time taken to hit the ground will be same for both balls and it is irrespective of its mass and size

If you throw a raw egg against a wall, you'll break it, but if you throw it with the same speed into a sagging sheet it won't br
SashulF [63]
The egg doesn't break when it hits the sheet because the impact time is longer. Momentum means the egg is slowed rather than coming to an abrubt halt. The softer the object that the egg hits, the longer the time it takes to break. A sheet is so soft that the force is never high enough for the egg to break.

Which graph below represents how the velocity of the sphere changes over time when falling with constant acceleration?
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Graph B represents the velocity of the sphere changes over time when falling with constant acceleration.

 • Acceleration is the measure of how quickly a body's velocity varies with regard to time, and constant acceleration occurs when a body's velocity changes proportionately over a period of time, or at a constant rate. It measures in m/s2.
 • It is claimed that a body has continual positive acceleration when it begins to move with an initial velocity of zero and gradually increases to a positive value over time.
 • Constant positive acceleration is demonstrated by a ball falling freely in a vertical direction.
