A certain field is a rectangle with a perimeter of 934 feet. The length is 153 feet more than the width. Find the width and leng
arsen [322]
Answer :

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

So, let breadth be = x
let length be. = 153 + x

So, P = 2(l + b)
= 2(153 + x + (x)

2x + 306 + 2x = 934
4x = 628
x = 628/4
x = 157

B = 157
L = 310

Given a segment with endpoints A and B, what figure can you contrust using the steps below?
liq [111]
A is the correct answer. By drawing two arcs from the two end points and drawing a line down the middle of the arc, you are creating a line that is at right angles with line AB. It is also in the midpoint. This makes it a perpendicular bisector.

The area of a rectangular piece of land is 5/16 square mile. .
tatiyna

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Area = L * W

L = 1/2

Area = 5/16

5/16 = 1/2 * w    You could do this using decimals

5/16 = 0.3125

1/2 = 0.5

0.3125 = 0.5 * w

w = 0.3125/0.5

w = 0.625

w = 5/8

The other way is done by fractions

\frac{\frac{5}{16} }{\frac{1}{2} } = \frac{5}{16}*\frac{2}{1} =\frac{5}{8}

There are a couple of notes

  • First, you invert and multiply the denominator (the bottom fraction). It becomes 2/1
  • Second the 2 and 16 cancel 5/16 becomes 5/8

Y=8(x^2+4)+17+-32 in vertex form
Yakvenalex [24]

y = 8( {x}^{2}  + 4) + 17 + ( - 32)
y = 8( {x}^{2}  + 4) + 17 - 32
y = 8 {x}^{2}  + 32 + 17 - 32
y = 8 {x}^{2}  + 17
compare to the formula:
y = a( {x}^{2}  - h) + k
y = 8( {x}^{2}  - 0) + 17
a = 8
h = 0
k = 17
