Parallel rays of monochromatic light with wavelength 583 nm illuminate two identical slits and produce an interference pattern o

n a screen that is 75.0 cm from the slits. The centers of the slits are 0.640 mm apart and the width of each slit is 0.434 mm. If the intensity at the center of the central maximum is 5.00×10^−4W/m^2. What is the intensity at a point on the screen that is 0.900 mm from the center of the central maximum?

Answer:

  I = 2.18 10⁻⁴ W / m²

Explanation:

The two-slit interference pattern is described by the expression for constructive interference.

             d sin θ = m λ

If we also want to know the distribution of intensities we must perform the su of the electric field of the two waves, and find the intensity as the square of the velvet field, obtaining the expression

              I = I_max cos² ((π d /λ L) y)

where d is the separation of the slits, λ  the wavelength, L the distance to the screen e and the separation of the interference line with respect to the central maximum

let's reduce the magnitudes to the SI system

λ  = 583 nm = 583 10⁻⁹ m

L = 75.0 cm = 75.0 10⁻² m

d = 0.640 mm = 0.640 10⁻³ m

y = 0.900 mm = 0.900 10⁻³ m

let's calculate the intensity of this line

        I = 5 10⁻⁴ cos² ((π 0.640 10⁻³ /583 10⁻⁹ 0.75 10⁻²) 0.900 10⁻³)

        I = 5 10⁻⁴ cos2 (413.84)

         I = 5 10⁻⁴ 0.435

        I = 2.18 10⁻⁴ W / m²

A rocket in deep space has an empty mass of 150 kg and exhausts the hot gases of burned fuel at 2500 m/s. It is loaded with 600
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

v(10\,s) \approx 775.387\,\frac{m}{s}

v(20\,s)\approx 1905.350\,\frac{m}{s}

v(30\,s) \approx 4023.595\,\frac{m}{s}

Explanation:

The speed of the rocket is given the Tsiolkovsky's differential equation, whose solution is:

v (t) = v_{o} - v_{ex}\cdot \ln \frac{m}{m_{o}}

Where:

v_{o} - Initial speed of the rocket, in m/s.

v_{ex} - Exhaust gas speed, in m/s.

m_{o} - Initial total mass of the rocket, in kg.

m - Current total mass of the rocket, in kg.

Let assume that fuel is burned linearly. So that,

m(t) = m_{o} + r\cdot t

The initial total mass of the rocket is:

m_{o} = 750\,kg

The fuel consumption rate is:

r = -\frac{600\,kg}{30\,s}

r = -20\,\frac{kg}{s}

The function for the current total mass of the rocket is:

m(t) = 750\,kg - (20\,\frac{kg}{s} )\cdot t

The speed function of the rocket is:

v(t) = - 2500\,\frac{m}{s}\cdot \ln \frac{750\,kg -(20\,\frac{kg}{s} )\cdot t}{750\,kg}

The speed of the rocket at given instants are:

v(10\,s) \approx 775.387\,\frac{m}{s}

v(20\,s)\approx 1905.350\,\frac{m}{s}

v(30\,s) \approx 4023.595\,\frac{m}{s}

Physics Question (attached)
hammer [34]

Answer:

The answer is "\bold{10.6 \ \ \frac{m}{s^2}}"

Explanation:

The  Formula of acceleration:

\bold{a= \frac{v-v_0}{t}}

Given value:

t= 50\\v= 856\\v_0= 324

Calculating the acceleration:

\to  a = \frac{(856 - 324)}{50}\\\\

       = \frac{(532)}{50}\\\\= \frac{(106.4)}{10}\\\\= 10.64 \ \ \frac{ m}{s^2}
