Answer:

<u>The closest answer to this is C=12</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

With isosceles triangles we know 2 sides are equal and the base angles are equal. We have to find the value of x which is the third side of the triangle. We can see half of x is the third side of another triangle formed. we can use the Pythagorean theorem find the leg of half of one of the triangles.

\sqrt{74}=7^{2}  +b^{2}

\sqrt{74}=b^2\\-49\\

about -40.3976747

We have to take the square root of this to get 1/2 of x..

B= about  6.35591651

If we muiltply this by 2 we get around 12.711833

<u>The closest answer to this is C=12</u>

A park is in the shape of a rectangle. The park authorities are planning to build a 2-meter-wide jogging path in the park (shown
Burka [1]
First, we need to find the area of the two rectangles in this picture. We know that area = l*w.

So for the larger rectangle, we know the l = 100 m, and the w = 60 m. Let us find the area:

A=100*60=6000 m^{2}

So the larger rectangle area is 6000 m.

The smaller rectangle has dimensions that are 2 m less on every side. So we can recalculate these dimensions as l = 96 m and w = 56 m.

Let's find the area of the smaller rectangle:

A=96*56=5,376 m^{2}

So we know that the area of the smaller rectangle is 5,376 m.

The area of the jogging path is going to be the difference between these two rectangles. Let us solve:

6,000-5,376=624 m^{2}

So now we know that the area of the jogging path is 624 m^{2}.
