Answer:

  • The greatest number of necklaces she can make is: 6
  • There are 4 jade beads and 5 teak beads  on each necklace.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to calculate the greatest number of necklaces she can  make, you must find the Greatest Common  Factor (GCF) between 24 and 30.

Descompose 24 and 30 into their prime factors:

24=2*2*2*3=2^3*3\\\\30=2*3*5

Multiply the commons with the lowest exponents:

GCF=2*3\\\\GCF=6

The greatest number of necklaces she can make is: 6

Let be "j" the number of  jade beads on each necklace and "t" the number of  teak beads on each necklace.

Dividing the number of jade beads and the number of teak beads she will use by the GCF, you get:

j=\frac{24}{6}=4\\\\t=\frac{30}{6}=5

14+(5-14/2)
now 14/2 is 7
14+(5-7)
now 5-7 is -2
14+-2
is 12
the answer is 12
but if you want to you can do 12/3 to get the greatest common factor

Pam and Amanda and Mike work at different clothing stores. Amanda made twice what Pam earned and Julie
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

Pam: $181

Amanda: $362

Julie: $452

Step-by-step explanation:

(What does Mike have to do with this problem?)

Let a = Amanda's pay

Let p = Pam's pay

Let j = Julie's pay

"Amanda made twice what Pam earned"

a = 2p

"Julie made $90 more than Amanda"

j = a + 90

j = 2p + 90

Pam earned p

Total salary

a + p + j = 2p + p + 2p + 90

Total salary

$995

2p + p + 2p + 90 = 995

5p = 905

p = 181

a = 2p = 2(181) = 362

j = 2p + 90 = 362 + 90 = 452

Answer:

Pam: $181

Amanda: $362

Julie: $452
