A consumer report counted 72 low quality, 112 medium quality, and 711 high quality computers based on a random sample. The repor

t went on to say that all computers, regardless of quality, are packaged identically and sold at the same price. Use the observed frequencies to create a probability model for the quality of the next computer purchased

Total number of computers in sample = 72 + 112 + 711 = 895.
P(LQ) = 72/895 = 0.08
P(MQ) = 112/895 = 0.125
P(HQ) = 711/895 = 0.794

Answer:

P(L) = 0.0804

P(M) = 0.1251

P(H) = 0.7945

Step-by-step explanation:

A probability is the number of desired outcomes desired by the number of total outcomes.

I am going to say that we have these following events

L is the event that a computer is low quality.

There are 72+112+711 = 895 computers. Of those, 72 are low quality. So

P(L) = \frac{72}{895} = 0.0804

M is the event that a computer is medium quality.

Of the 895 computers, 112 of them are medium quality. So

P(M) = \frac{112}{895} = 0.1251

H is the event that a computer is medium quality.

Of the 895 computers, 711 of them are medium quality. So

P(H) = \frac{711}{895} = 0.7945

steposvetlana [31]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Within the sentence, it explicitly states "the war was a vehicle for lasting social and economic gains." In other words, the war led to a better future in terms of social and economic gains for discriminated groups (discriminated groups were mentioned in the beginning of the sentence which gives us the who). Some may argue D is correct, but I strongly side with C instead because D emphasizes discrimination ended, while the sentence makes no such claim. The sentence only states discriminatory issues were improved, but still not completely absent. As for A, there is no mention of technology in the sentence. In terms of B, the sentence refers to the "gains" or improvement of discrimination and not the "plague" or worsening of discrimination. Hence, C fits best.

Tia lives at the corner of 4th street and 8th avenue. lei lives at the corner of 12th street and 20th avenue. the fruit market i
Firdavs [7]

Applying the distance formula, the distance from from Tia's home to Lei's home = 14.4 units.

What is the Distance Formula?

The distance formula helps us to find the distance between two given coordinate points. It is expressed as, \mathbf{d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2} }.

Tia = (4, 8) = (x1, y1)

Lei = (12, 20) = (x2, y2)

Apply the distance formula to find the distance from Tia's home to Lei's home:

d = √[(12−4)² + (20−8)²]

d = √[(8)² + (12)²]

d = √(64 + 144)

d = √208

d ≈ 14.4 units

The distance from from Tia's home to Lei's home = 14.4 units.

A consulting company claims that if job seekers attend the company's career development course, their chance of obtaining a job
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

Kevin should attend the career development course because the expected value of attending the career development course is greater than the expected value of not attending the career development course.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the consulting company claims that if job seekers attend the company's career development course their chance of obtaining a job is greatly increased is true then Kevin's chance of getting a job over the next year which is 76% will greatly increase.

The average salary in Kevin's desired profession is $61,207.11 if he attends the company career development course then there would be an increase of $7, 295.00. To sum, Kevin is expected to receive an annual salary of $68, 502.11. The cost of the course is only $2,763.00. If we subtract the cost from his annual salary: $68,502.11 - 2763 = $65, 739.11, there would be an increase on his salary. So, Kevin should attend the career development course because the expected value of attending the career development course is greater than the expected value of not attending the career development course.

Without calculating, is the equation (1.8 times 3) times 2.1 = ( 1.8 times 2.1 ) true or false? Explain your reasoning.
Paladinen [302]
It is true due to the commutative property of multiplication. If all of your operations are multiplication, then the integers can move around and you can still get the same answer.
^This is only true if you meant to type (1.8x3)x2.1=(1.8x2.1)x3

If you meant what you typed, then the equation is false. The left side would be 3 times the value of the right side due to the 3 being on the left side and not the right side while without the 3 the two sides would be equal.
