Question 1

After adding the two numbers together, you will find a number. To determine the number of significant figures, count the digits from right to left. The zeros  on the left end and the right end are not significant. The zeros between the non-zero digits are significant.

Question 2

A mete stick is shorter than the student. So by using it, she will be force to take the measurements twice then add then together to get her height. This increases the chances of making errors. To improve the accuracy she should change the measuring instrument and use a tape measure. This will allow her to make only one measurement.

Question 3

Volume = length × width × height

               = 105 × 75 × 80.5

               = 633,937.5 cm³

In scientific notation;

633,937.5 cm³ = 6.339375 × 10⁵ cm³

∧Answer

When adding or subtracting, use the least number of significant figures past the decimal point when adding or subtracting numbers.Example, the answer to 123.45 + 543.2 should have 1 significant figure past the decimal point.

Precision of the measuring instrument can be increased by calibration and use of proper techniques.Calibration is performed to ensure the instrument used properly measure the unit.All measuring instruments require proper calibration to give precise results.

The accuracy of the measurement can be increased through;

• Using appropriate measuring too in relation to what is being measured. I. e use a tape

• Controlling all other potential variables which could affect the measurement.

• Repeating the measurement to check if you get identical vales every time.

Volume of the fish tank is given by

V=L×W×H where L is length of tank, W is width of tank and H is height of tank.

V=105×75×80.5=633937.5 cm³

or 6.33937 × 10^5cm³

a small asteroid of mass 125 kg is orbiting a planet that has a mass of 3.52x 10^13 what is the radial distance between the aste
asambeis [7]

Answer:

r = 2.031 x 10⁶ m = 2031 km

Explanation:

In order for the asteroid to orbit the planet, the centripetal force must be equal to the gravitational force between asteroid and planet:

Centripetal Force = Gravitational Force

mv²/r = GmM/r²

v² = GM/r

r = GM/v²

where,

r = radial distance = ?

G = Universal Gravitational Constant = 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ N.m²/kg²

M = Mass of Planet = 3.52 x 10¹³ kg

v = tangential speed = 0.034 m/s

Therefore,

r = (6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ N.m²/kg²)(3.52 x 10¹³ kg)/(0.034 m/s)²

<u>r = 2.031 x 10⁶ m = 2031 km</u>

While seeds are forming, another plant part forms around them. Animals eat this part and carry the seeds to a new spot.
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

<em>The correct option is D) fruit</em>

Explanation:

Both the gymnosperm and the angiosperms plants produce seed. Seeds are an essential part of reproduction in plants.

After fertilization has occurred, the ripened ovule is the part which turns into a seed. The size of the seeds depends on the type if plant.

After fertilization, the ovary forms the fruit. As the ovule is present in the ovule hence after fertilization, the seed which was made from the ovule gets enclosed in the fruit which was made from the ovary.

An electric dipole is formed from ±1.00nC charges spaced 3.00 mm apart. The dipole is at the origin, oriented along the x-axis.
Ronch [10]

Answer:

Value of electric field along the axis and equitorial axis  E=31.25\ N/c and E = 15.625\ N/c respectively.

Explanation:

Given :

Distance between charges , d = 3 \ mm =\dfrac{3}{1000}\ m=3\times 10^{-3}\ m.

Magnitude of charges , q=1\ nC = 10^{-9}\ C.

Dipole moment , p=qL=10^{-9}\times 3\times 10^{-3}=3\times 10^{-12} \ C\ m.

Case A) (x,y) = (12.0 cm, 0 cm) :

Electric field of dipole in its axis ,

E=\dfrac{2kp}{r^3}

Putting all values and r=12\times 10^{-2}\ m.

We get , E=31.25\ N/c.

Case B) (x,y) = (0 cm, 12.0 cm) :

Electric field of dipole on equitorial axis ,

E = \dfrac{kp}{r^3}

Putting all values and r=12\times 10^{-2}\ m.

We get , E = 15.625\ N/c.

Hence , this is the required solution.
