Divide the fraction so 3 divide that by 8 then u should get .375 so then add the six so then u should get 6.375 multiply that by 8 and u get 51 lbs

If f(x) = 3x - 7, then f-1(x)=
fgiga [73]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

so f-1(x) means we are finding the inverse

f(x) = 3x - 7.....change f(x) to y

y = 3x - 7.....now switch ur x and y and solve for y

x = 3y - 7....add 7 to both sides

x + 7 = 3y...divide both sides by 3

(x/3) + 7/3 = y....rearrange

y = (x/3) + 7/3....can also be written as : y = 1/3x + 7

now just change ur y to f-1(x)

f-1(x) = x/3 + 7/3.....or f-1(x) = 1/3x + 7/3

A box's volume is equal to 600 cubic
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Length = x

width = x - 7

height = x - 10

volume = 600 in^3

Volume = L * w * h

600 = x * (x - 7)*(x - 10)

600 = x * (x^2 - 17x + 70)

600 = x^3 - 17x^2 + 70x

x^3 - 17x^2 + 70x - 600 = 0

There is a genius somewhere that could solve this using algebra. The rest of us have 2 choices. We can graph it (see below) or we could use a program that solves it for us. I'll do both for you.

a = 1

b  = - 17

c = 70

d = - 600

There is only 1 real solution: x = 15

L = 15

w = 8

h = 5

That has to be one of the ugliest graphs made. It does into the hundreds of thousands and it still looks like a straight line. Trust me. It's not.

If I make $7.25 a hour and I work for three days how much money is that every two weeks
trasher [3.6K]

There are a couple of things you didn't mention.
In order to come up with an answer to the question,
I have to assume reasonable numbers for them, and
then answer the question that I have invented.

Assumption #1:  Each day that you work, you work for 8 hours.

Assumption #2:  You work for three days each week.

If those assumptions are true, then you earn

  ($7.25 / hour) x (8 hours/day) x (3 days/week) x (2 weeks)  =

       ($7.25 x 8 x 3 x 2)  =  $348  before taxes and other deductions.
