Answer:

Both use ion channels to move ions across the cell membrane, in or out of the cell. Differences: Passive Transport (or Diffusion) moves ions from high concentration to low, using no metabolic energy. Active Transport moves ions from low concentration to high, using metabolic energy in the form of ATP.

Answer:

Sample Response: Both passive and active transport move substances into and out of the cell across the cell membrane. However, passive transport does not require the use of energy because molecules move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Active transport does require the use of energy because molecules move from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration.

pav-90 [236]

Answer:

Option A, light energy from the sun

Explanation:

In the process of photosynthesis, the energy from sun in the form of light and heat is taken to undergo glycolysis and prepare glucose/starch (chemical).

Thus, the light and heat energy of sun is converted into the chemical energy.

Option B and C are incorrect because no kinetic energy or chemical energy is taken from any source.

Option D is also incorrect because heat is taken but it is not taken from the surrounding environment. The source of heat energy is sun.

Thus, only option A is correct
