1 light-year = roughly 5,874,601,700,000 miles. (rounded)

To work it out, take the speed of light, and change units a few times:

          (186,282.397 miles/second)
times
          (86,400 second/day)
times
          (365 day/year)

    = (186,282.397 x 86,400 x 365) mile/year .

You can whip that out on your calculator in no time.

bobby’s christmas list had 3 more than twice as many items on it than johnny’s list. johnny asked for 8 fewer items than bobby.
Nataly [62]

Answer:

Johnny had 5 items and Bobby had 13 items.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that Johnny has x items and Bobby has y items in their list.

Bobby had 3 more than twice as many items on it than Johnny. So,

\Rightarrow y=3+2x ----------1

Johnny asked for 8 fewer items than bobby. So,

\Rightarrow y-8=x -----------2

Putting the value of x from equation 2 in equation 1, we get

\Rightarrow y=3+2(y-8)

\Rightarrow y=3+2y-16

\Rightarrow 2y-y=16-3

\Rightarrow y=13

Putting the value of y in equation 2,

\Rightarrow 13-8=x

\Rightarrow x=5

So, Johnny had 5 items and Bobby had 13 items.

5. The heights of 500 female students are measured, half of whom are college students and half of whom are second-grade students
AysviL [449]

Using statistical concepts, it is found that:

  • 2 modes would be expected for the distribution.
  • The distribution would be symmetric.

-------------------------------

  • Heights are traditionally normally distributed, which is a symmetric distribution.
  • Second-grade students are considerably shorter than college students, so there would be two modes.
  • Both distributions, for the height of second grade and of college students, are normal, which is symmetric, thus the combined distribution will also be symmetric.

Z1 and Z2 are vertical angles. Z2 has measure of 93° what is the measure of Z1? enter your answer in the box.
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

m∠Z1 = 93°

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertical Angles are the angles opposite each other when two lines cross.

They are congruent (the same as each other).

Therefore, m∠Z1 = m∠Z2, so if m∠Z2 = 93° then m∠Z1 = 93°
