Incomplete question.The Complete question is here

A flat uniform circular disk (radius = 2.00 m, mass = 1.00 ✕ 102 kg) is initially stationary. The disk is free to rotate in the horizontal plane about a friction less axis perpendicular to the center of the disk. A 40.0-kg person, standing 1.25 m from the axis, begins to run on the disk in a circular path and has a tangential speed of 2.00 m/s relative to the ground.

a.) Find the resulting angular speed of the disk (in rad/s) and describe the direction of the rotation.

b.) Determine the time it takes for a spot marking the starting point to pass again beneath the runner's feet.

Answer:

(a)ω = 1 rad/s

(b)t = 2.41 s

Explanation:

(a) initial angular momentum = final angular momentum

0 = L for disk + L............... for runner

0 = Iω² - mv²r ...................they're opposite in direction

0 = (MR²/2)(ω²) - mv²r ................where is ω is angular speed which is required in part (a) of question

0 = [(1.00×10²kg)(2.00 m)² / 2](ω²) - (40.0 kg)(2.00 m/s)²(1.25 m)

0=200ω²-200

200=200ω²

ω = 1 rad/s

b.)

lets assume the "starting point" is a point marked on the disk.

The person's angular speed is

v/r = (2.00 m/s) / (1.25 m) = 1.6 rad/s

As the person and the disk are moving in opposite directions, the person will run part of a revolution and the turning disk would complete the whole revolution.

(angle) + (angle disk turns) = 2π

(1.6 rad/s)(t) + ωt = 2π

t[1.6 rad/s + 1 rad/s] = 2π

t = 2.41 s

An eccentric inventor attempts to levitate a cork ball by wrapping it with foil and placing a large negative charge on the ball
djverab [1.8K]

Answer:

because of the idea that like charges get repulsion as a force.

Explanation:

because you wrap the ball with foil, the negative charges will leave the foil and go into the ball by induction. This leaves the foil as a positively charged particle since its electrons left it for the ball, making the ball a negatively charged particle. but if you bring the negative charge near the foil, the electrons will transfer from that and go into the foil, making it negatively charged. Now, because the ball and the foil have the same charge, they repel. the foil flies off.

What is Newton's Second Law?
Rudiy27

Answer:

An object's acceleration depends on its mass and on the net force acting on it.

Explanation:

Newton's second law states that the acceleration of an object is directly related to the net force and inversely related to its mass. Acceleration of an object depends on two things, force and mass.

If Mrs. Reichelt throws a chromebook, because it won't login correctly, with a force of 8N, and the chromebook accelerates at 5m
suter [353]

Answer:

1.6 kg

Step-by-step Solution:

Since Force = mass × acceleration we have:

F = 8N

a= 5 m/s^2

m = ?

By plugging the values above into F=ma we obtain:

F=ma\\\\8=m(5)\\\\\frac{8}{5}=\frac{m(5)}{5}\\\\m=\frac{8}{5}=1.6

Therefore, the Chromebook has a mass of 1.6 kilograms.

Suppose you are walking in an airliner in flight. Use Newton’s third law to describe the effect of your walk on the motion on th
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

The effect of your walking will create a force on the airline acting downwards, due to the weight. By Newton's thirds law the airline will exert an equal and opposite reaction force directed downwards.

Explanation:

The weight of all the passengers acts downwards on the floor of the Airplane.

The Airplane exerts an equal and opposite force on the passengers, with the help of its propulsion due to which the flight keeps on flying without falling down.

Hence by changing the frame of reference we can observe the force which is responsible for the reaction.
