In the game of roulette, a player can place a $4 bet on the number 10 and have a 1/38 probability of winning. If the metal ball

lands on 10, the player gets to keep the $4 paid to play the game and the player is awarded an additional $140. Otherwise, the player is awarded nothing and the casino takes the player’s $4. What is the expected value of the game to the player? If you played the game 1000 times, how much would you expect to lose?

I believe you should do as much work as you can on each of these problems and only then ask for help.  You'll almost always learn more by becoming involved in the thinking and problem solving you encounter here.

|x| + 5 = 13  reduces to   |x| = 13, so x could be either -13 or +13.

Anarel [89]

Answer

Find out the how many of each metal did your team win.

To prove

As given

Your team wins 18 medals at a competition.

The metals are gold, silver, and bronze in a ratio of 2:4:3.

Let us assume that x be the scalar multiple of the gold, silver and bronze medal.

Thus

Number of gold medal = 2x

Number of silver medal = 4x

Number of bronze medal = 3x

Than the equation becomes

2x + 4x + 3x = 18

9x = 18

x = \frac{18}{9}

x = 2

Number of gold medal = 2 × 2

                                      = 4

Number of silver medal = 4 × 2

                                       = 8

Number of bronze medal = 3 × 2

                                           = 6

Therefore the number of gold medal are 4, silver medal are 8, bronze medal are 6.

I NEED HELP NOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!!!
In-s [12.5K]

Answer: 1590cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

V=\frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}a^2h

a = base

h = height

V=\frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}(6cm)^2(17cm)

Solve the parentheses squared first.

V=\frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}(36cm^2)(17cm)

2 and 36 can be simplied

2/2=1

36/2=18

V=3\sqrt{3}(18cm^2)(17cm)

V=3\sqrt{3}(306cm^3)\\ V=1590.02cm^3

Rounded to the nearest whole number... 1590cm^3
