Answer:

{24x}^{2}  - 8x

Step-by-step explanation:

just a warning. not 100% sure if this is right, its just what i did. and yes its legal math. i think lol.

so i distributed the 2 to the 0.5x, getting just x. then multiplying that x by 4 getting 4x. next i just distributed the 4x to the 6x-2. getting the answer bc multiplying an x by an x gets you and x^2. so you get 24x^2 (bc 4 times 6 is 24) and -8x bc 4x times -2 is -8x

A 600-ft tall building is represented by a 30-in. tall model.
alexdok [17]

\huge\boxed{19\ \text{inches}}

First, find the scale factor by dividing the first building's real-life height by its model height.

\frac{600}{30}=\frac{60}{3}=20

Now, we'll write an equation to find the model height of the second building.

r=20m

Here is an equation where r represents the real-life height of a building, 20 represents the scale factor, and m represents the model height of the same building.

Fill in the information we already know.

380=20m

Divide both sides by 20.

\frac{380}{20} = \frac{20m}{20}

\large{\boxed{19}}=m

So, the model height of the second building is 19 inches.

Which of the following is the correct usage of the distributive property of the expression: 3(x+1) ?
Alchen [17]

Answer:  =3x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

3\left(x+1\right)

\mathrm{Apply\:the\:distributive\:law}:\quad \:a\left(b+c\right)=ab+ac

3\left(x+1\right)=3x+3\cdot \:1

=3x+3\cdot \:1

\mathrm{Multiply\:the\:numbers:}\:3\cdot \:1=3

=3x+3

At the movie theatre, child admission is $5.90
Alik [6]
Let the number of children be c, and the number of adults be a.
c + a = 170 (total number of tickets)
Then the cost of each is: $5.90/child, $9.60/adult:
5.9c + 9.6a = 1269.40 (total sales)
Solving as 2 simultaneous equations, we first transform the first equation:
a = 170 - c
Substitute into the 2nd equation:
5.9c + 9.6(170 - c) = 1269.40
Solving gives c = 98, and a = 170 - 98 = 72. This means that 72 adult tickets were sold that day.
