45:06 What most likely occurred during this demonstration? In a science demonstration, a teacher mixed zinc (Zn) with hydrogen c

hloride (HCI) in a flask and quickly attached a balloon over the mouth of the flask. Bubbles formed in the solution and the balloon inflated. O The Zn and HCl both retained their identity. O Either Zn or HCI, but not both, retained its identity. Evaporation of one of the substances occurred. O One or more new substances formed. Mark this and return Save and Exit Next Submit

The heat of solution is found by adding a salt to water in a calorimeter and measuring the temperature change. The specific heat
melomori [17]

Answer:

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

Explanation:

Mass of the water = m = 46.52 g

Initial temperature of the water = T_1=22.83 ^oC

Final temperature of the water = T_2=18.98^oC

The specific heat of water, c = 4.180 J/gºC

Heat associated with water on dissolving salt: q

Q=mc(T_2-T_1)

Q=46.52 g\times 4.180 J/g&oC\times (18.98^oC-22.83 ^oC)

Q=-748.65 J

Negative sign means that heat was lost by water on an addition of a salt.

Heat released on dissolving of salt = -Q = 748.65 J

Mass of salt added = 4.5069 g

Heat of the solution of salt :

= \frac{-Q}{ 4.5069 g}=\frac{748.65 J}{ 4.5069 g}=1.66.11 J/g

The heat of the solution of salt is 1.66.11 J/g.

A hot chunk of metal at 120 degrees Celsius is put into water at 20 degrees Celsius.
valentina_108 [34]

i believe the answer is B: both wind up at 60°C

but it's also reasonable to assume, given enough time, they wind up at 20°C because the water would heat up to cool the metal then slowly release the heat to the air untill they both reach 20°C

if it were me I'd answer B, apologies if I'm wrong
