Radical prostatectomy is cryosurgery to eliminate the whole prostate gland and encompassing lymph nodes as a method for men with localized prostate cancer. After surgery, one may be weak and require more rest for 3 to 4 weeks subsequent thou go home.

One will go home with a catheter (tube) to drain urine from your bladder. The aforementioned will be discarded after 1 to 3 weeks. One may go home with an added drain (called a Jackson-Pratt, or JP drain). One will be instructed on how to release it and care for it.
