Answer

The way you multiply is basically add the same number over and over

Step-by-step explanation:

like 3 * 7 would be the same as 7 + 7 + 7

Or 9 * 4 is the same as 4 + 4 +4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4

However, Multiplying is a Commutative Property, which means which ever order you put the numbers it will have the same sum (Answer)

Example :

4 * 8 = 8 * 4

You have a summer job that pays you $5.60 an hour you get $8.40 an hour for overtime how many hours of overtime must you work to
Shtirlitz [24]

The following given problem can be expressed in the form of:

E = 5.60 * T1 + 8.40 * T2

where,

E = total earning

T1 = normal hours worked

T2 = overtime hours

Assuming that the maximum T1 hours is 40 hours. Beyond that is considered overtime, therefore:

287 = 5.60 * 40 + 8.40 * T2

T2 = 7.5 hours

Therefore 7.50 overtime hours is needed.

Select all the correct equations.
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

You did not post the options, but i will try to answer this in a general way.

Because we have two solutions, i know that we are talking about quadratic equations, of the form of:

0 = a*x^2 + b*x + c.

There are two easy ways to see if the solutions of this equation are real or not.

1) look at the graph, if the graph touches the x-axis, then we have real solutions (if the graph does not touch the x-axis, we have complex solutions).

2) look at the determinant.

The determinant of a quadratic equation is:

D = b^2 - 4*a*c.

if D > 0, we have two real solutions.

if D = 0, we have one real solution (or two real solutions that are equal)

if D < 0, we have two complex solutions.
