Answer:

The approximate solution to the system is (1.2, 4.4)

x = 1.2 and y = 4.4

Step-by-step explanation:

The solution of the system of linear equations equation y = –0.25x + 4.7 and y = 4.9x – 1.64 is shown in the attached graph. The red line represents the equation y = –0.25x + 4.7 and the blue line represents the equation  = 4.9x – 1.64.

The solution of the system of equations is their point of intersection shown on the graph.

The point of intersection is (1.231, 4.392). To the nearest tenth, it is (1.2, 4,4). So x = 1.2 and y = 4.4.

So the approximate solution to the system is (1.2, 4.4)

max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

The probability of a person having a driving accident while intoxicated is 0.07

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, well, let´s put this on a formula, I think it is the best way to explain it.

P(A+I)=P(A)+P(I)-P(AorI)

Where:

P(A+I) = Probability of having a driving accident while intoxicated.

P(A) = Probability of a person of having an accident.

P(I) = Probablity person being intoxicated.

P(A or I) = Probability of a person for being intoxicated or having an accident.

Therefore, things should look like this:

P(A+I)=0.12+0.32-0.37=0.07

So, the  probability of a person having a driving accident while intoxicated is 0.07.

Best of luck.
