More than 27% of the total land area of the Netherlands is under seasonal or permanent crop production. Grasslands account for about 54% of all agricultural lands. Most farms are effectively managed and worked intensively with mechanical equipment. The many cooperatives have added to the efficiency of production and distribution.<span>

Numerous reasons including:
1. Weak central government, all power in the hands of the state governments
2. Couldn't collect taxes
3. Couldn't regulate interstate commerce
4. Needed 9/13 to pass laws
5. Needed all 13 states to pass an amendment, difficult for everyone to agree
6. Couldn't raise an army
7. No President to run things
8. States didn't have to respect treaties of the central government
He opposed this compromise, as it would ban slavery in new states, and he believed that slavery should be allowed in all states and that this compromise was intervening into the South's affairs, which the south should decide by itself.
He was a member of a prominent family in the Cherokee nation and was born in 1802 and died at the age of 37 in 1839.
