Attribution theory can be defined as any theory attempting to explain the process by which individuals explain the causes of behaviour and events. It examines what information is gathered and how it is combined to form a causal judgment. These causes can either be internal or external.
Explanation: it is reciprocal process through which an individual or group with distinctive qualities, such as idiosyncratic values or customs, becomes identified as one that is not accepted fully into the larger group.
