Bill and Jenna are solving the quadratic equation x 2 - x = 12. Bill solved this way Jenna solved this way x 2 - x = 12 x(x - 1)

= 12 x = 12 or 13 x 2 - x = 12 x 2 - x - 12 = 0 (x - 4)(x + 3) = 0 x = 4 or x = -3 Which student is correct? What error did the other student make when solving?

I'm assuming the 0s are negative signs.

Anyway, Jenna did the correct way to solve it. Bill didn't solve the quadratic equation correctly because he didn't proceed to solving for the zeros of the equation - which Jenna did.

7.74cm ^2

Step-by-step explanation:

a=pie * r ^2

3.14*3^2=3.14*9=28.26  then you know all sides of a square are equal and 3 is half of 1 side so 6*6-=36 36-28.26=7.74

14+14*14/14-14 equals what? Explain how you know
Vinvika [58]
Well you use PEMDAS (1. Parentheses 2. Exponents 3. Multiplication and Division in order from left to right 4. Addition and Subtraction in order from left to right) to solve. you have no parentheses or exponents so you do multiplication and division first 14*14 = 196, and 196/14 is 14. Then you do addition and subtraction. 14 + 14 = 28. 28 - 14 = 14.
