Hello there!

The expression:48x+ 56xy

We know we can't add them together since 56 is being multiplied by y. We aren't going to combine 48x and 56xy. They will remain separate terms.

We know that "C" and "D" are not the answers.

However, we can check the following expressions to see if they match the given expression.

8x(6+7y)= 8x*6= 48x  8x*7y= 56xy <=== "A" is correct

"A" is the correct answer.

I hope this helps!

Convert from Decimal Notation to Scientific Notation
DIA [1.3K]

Answer:

Hence, 0.00000103 can be expressed as $1.03 \times 10^{-6}$.

Step-by-step explanation:

- Given 0.00000103

- Move the decimal point so that the factor is greater than or equal to 1 but less than 10 .

- Then count n and write no. as a product with a power of 10 .

Step 1 of 1

Consider 0.00000103,

1.03

Decimal has moved 6 places to right.

The power will be negative as the original no. is less than 1 .

$$\begin{array}{r}1.03 \times 10^{-6} \\0.00000103=1.03 \times 10^{-6}\end{array}$$

You go into a cafe and you see on the menu that coffee costs R20.50, a muffin costs R10.29 and a sweet costs 59 cents. You order
Viktor [21]

Answer:

R 42.26

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the bill correctly we must add the orders separately and in the sweet cost when adding, we should write it as 0.59 not 59.

my order            my friend's order

 20.50                   10.29

+ 10.29                +   0.59

<u>                 </u>                  0.59

R 30.79                <u>              </u>

                             R  11.47

<em>R 30.79 + R 11.47 = </em><em>R 42.26</em>

The cost of oranges in a grocery store is directly proportional to the number of oranges purchased. Jerri payed $2.52 for 6 oran
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer: option A is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

The cost of oranges in a grocery store is directly proportional to the number of oranges purchased. Jerri paid $2.52 for 6 oranges.

If p represents the cost, in dollars,and n represents the number of oranges purchased, then introducing a proportionality constant, k, the equation becomes

p = kn

2.52 = k × 6

k = 2.52/6 = 0.42

Therefore, the equation representing the relationship is

p = 0.42n

What function is shown by the graph below?
Airida [17]

Answer:

The function f(x)=\sqrt{x+2}  is shown by the graph below ⇒ 2nd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>To find the right function chose two points from the graph and substitute the x-coordinate of each point in the function to find the y-coordinate, if they are the same with the corresponding y-coordinates of the points, then the function is shown by the graph</em>

From the figure:

The curve passes through points (-2 , 0) and (2 , 2)

∵  f(x)=\sqrt{x-2}

∵ x = -2

- Substitute x by -2

∴ f(-2)=\sqrt{-2-2}

∴ f(-2)=\sqrt{-4} ⇒ it is impossible no square root for (-) number

∴ f(x)=\sqrt{x-2} is not the function shown by the graph

∵  f(x)=\sqrt{x+2}

∵ x = -2

- Substitute x by -2

∴ f(-2)=\sqrt{-2+2}

∴ f(-2)=\sqrt{0}

∴ f(-2) = 0 ⇒ same as the y-coordinate of x = -2

∵ x = 2

- Substitute x by 2

∴ f(2)=\sqrt{2+2}

∴ f(2)=\sqrt{4}

∴ f(2) = 2 ⇒ same as the y-coordinate of x = 2

∴ The function f(x)=\sqrt{x+2} is shown by the graph below
