Answer:

She can paint 13 vases completely and 1/3rd of 14th vase  in 2 1/2 quarts of paint.

Step-by-step explanation:

Quart of paint for 1 vase = 3/16

Total paint in Quart with Lydia = 2 1/2 = 2 + 1/2 = 5/2

No of flower she can paint = Total paint ÷ paint for 1 vase

                                              = 5/2 ÷ 3/16 = 5/2×16/3 = 40/3

                                              = 13 1/3

hence She can paint 13 vases completely and 1/3rd of 14th vase  in 2 1/2 quarts of paint.

What is the exact value of cos 45° ?
Georgia [21]
Let the two sides of a right triangle be equal to one, which means that the hypotenuse is √2

Since cosa=adjacent side / hypotenuse

cos45=1/√2

We can rationalize the denominator by multiplying numerator and denominator by √2

√(2)/2

or if you prefer:  √(1/2)

Laila is 14 years older than tom. Laila is 5 years younger than Dan. Altogether they have a combined age of 51. How old are they
notka56 [123]
Laila=l
Tom=t
Dan=d

l=t+14
l=d-5
l+t+d=51

In terms of l:
d=l+5
t=l-14

So:
l+l+5+l-14=51
3l+5-14=51
3l-9=51
3l=60
l=20
d=25
t=6

Hope this helps :)

If neil, weighing 150 pounds, jumps with an initial velocity of 8ft/sec, calculate his hang time on the earth as well as his han
sashaice [31]

we use the following formula to calculate height, 'h', under the effect of gravity:

h = vt - (1/2)gt^2, where g = 9.8m/s^2 and 't' represents time in seconds

8 ft/s * 0.3048 = 2.4384 m/s

we treat mass as inconsequential to the problem, considering only the effect of initial velocity and gravitational pull

to find his 'hang time' we solve for h=0, knowing that t=0 will be the first value (before the jump):

0 = 8(0.3048)t - (9.8/2)t^2

solving for 't' we have t=0.497

the 'hang time' will be approximately 0.5 seconds, or 1/2 of a second

the maximum height will be 0.2488m, or 0.816 feet, or 9.8 inches

on the moon, the hang time and height will increase by a factor of 6

hang time: approximately 3 seconds on the moon

maximum height: approximately 2.4 feet
