The speed of a nerve impulse in the human body is about 100 m/s. If you accidentally stub you toe in the dark, estimate the time

it takes the nerve impulse to travel to your brain. (Assume that you are approximately 2.00 m tall and that the nerve impulse travels at uniform speed.)

Answer:

0.02 s takes the nerve impulse to travel to your brain.

Explanation:

We have an arythmetical equation that is proposed in the problem.

If the speed of a normal nerve impulse is 100 m per one second, how much will take the same impulse in go throught 2 meters, so it does 2 meters in X s.

100 m / 1 s = 2 m / x s

After we have our equation formulated we need to find x

X s = 2 m * 1 s / 100 m = 0.02 s

This is the way how we found that there is a time of 0.02 s that takes the nerve impulse to go from the toe to your brain if you are 2 meters tall.

A woman, S.R., had a maternal grandfather with hemophilia A (OMIM 306700), an X-linked recessive condition that reduces blood cl
Sidana [21]

Answer:

Hemophilia is a x-linked recessive inherited bleeding disorder. in this disease blood does not clot properly due to the decreased level of blood clotting factor VIII (8) or factor IX (9).

In x-linked recessive condition, the disease is transmitted from father (affected male) to his daughter and mother (affected female) to her son and skip of generation getting affected is also occurs.

  • there will be 50% chance of her (S.R.) each son to be affected with hemophilia.

Explanation:

Hemophilia is caused due to mutation of one gene which is responsible for the making of proteins of blood coagulation factor viii or ix. the affected person bleeds continuously from any injury and that can cause serious issues.

here,

grandfather of s.r is affected (xₐy) and grandmother is normal (xx) will produce

                                                   ↓

s.r's mother who is a carrier (xₐx) [as xₐy and xx will produce 100% carrier xₐx daughter]

                                                    ↓

s.r's mother is a carrier (xₐx) but her father is normal (xy) will produce,

                                                   ↓

s.r who has 50% chance of being carrier (xₐx) and 50% chance of being normal (xx) [as she is the only child] and she has a normal (xy) partner, they will give,

                                                     ↓

  1. if s.r is a carrier (xₐx) then one of her son will be affected (xₐy) [as xₐx and xy =xₐy]
  2. if s.r is normal (xx) then her son will be normal (xy) [as xx and xy will give xy]

here, 50% chance of her son to be affected with hemophilia [as S.R of being affected is more considerable].

When you examine fluid that you have drawn from a blood vessel in someone's arm, you find that it is relatively high in carbon d
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:

The given blank can be filled with a venule.

Explanation:

A small blood vessel in the microcirculation, which connects the capillary beds to the veins is known as the venules. Various venules combine to form a vein. The walls of a venule are formed of three layers, that is, the inner endothelium formed of squamous endothelial cells, a middle layer of elastic and muscle tissue, and an external layer formed of fibrous connective tissue.

The size of a venule ranges from 8 to 100 micrometers in diameter and are produced when capillaries come in close association. A venule refers to a small blood vessel that permits the deoxygenated blood high in carbon dioxide and waste products to return from capillary beds to the bigger blood vessels known as veins.
