A baby carriage that is carrying twins is sitting at the top of a knoll that is 21 m high. The carriage with the babies are 48kg
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

The Potential Energy of the twins and the carriage is 9878.4 J.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

height of the knoll above the ground level, h = 21 m

mass of the carriage with the babies, m = 48 kg

The potential Energy of the twins and the carriage is given by;

P.E = mgh

where;

g is the acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

Substitute the givens;

P.E = (48)(9.8)(21)

P.E = 9878.4 J

Therefore, the Potential Energy of the twins and the carriage is 9878.4 J.

18x-16y=-312 78x-16y=408
lilavasa [31]
Elimination
multiply first equation by -1 and add to 2nd

-18x+16y=312
78x-16y=408 +
60x+0y=720

60x=720
divide both sides by 60
x=12

sub back

18x-16y=-312
18(12)-16y=-312
216-16y=-312
-16y=-528
divide both sides by -16
y=33

x=12
y=33

A painter leans a 25-ft ladder against a building. The base of the ladder is 7 ft from the building. To the nearest foot, how hi
Komok [63]
The easiest way to solve this problem would be to use the pythagorean theorem. Plug in the information you know. 25 will have to be c because it is the hypotenuse. You can plug 7 in for a or b. It does not matter which one you plug 7 in for because you will still get the same answer.

This is what it should look like:
7^2 + b^2 = 25^2

Now solve the equation.
7^2 = 49
25^2 = 625

The new equation will be 49 + b^2 = 625

Now subtract 49 from 625.

625 - 49 = 576

b^2 = 576

Now take the square root of both sides to get b by itself.

b = 24

Your answer should be: The ladder reaches 24 ft. high on the building.
