The line passes through the point -4, -8 and has a slope of 3/2 Rewrite an equation in a X plus BY equals C

Mathematics

amid [387]3 years ago
4 0

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(-4,-8)...x = -4 and y = -8

slope = 3/2

in y = mx + b form, the m is ur slope

now sub ur info into y = mx + b......we need to find b, the y intercept

y = mx + b

-8 = 3/2(-4) + b

-8 = -6 + b

-8 + 6 = b

-2 = b

so ur equation is : y = 3/2x - 2.....but u need it in another form

y = 3/2x - 2.....subtract 3/2x from both sides

-3/2x + y = -2 ....then u can multiply by -2 and get 3x - 2y = 4....just in case u dont want fractions

A bouncy ball is dropped such that the height of its first bounce is 5.5 feet and each successive bounce is 64% of the previous
ahrayia [7]

Answer:

  0.4 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

It can be convenient to let a spreadsheet compute the values for you. Here, we have written an explicit formula for the height of the n-th bounce:

  h = 5.5×0.64^(n-1)

We have written the formula this way because we are given the height of the first bounce, not the starting height. Each bounce multiplies the height by a factor of 0.64. Then the 7th bounce will have a height of ...

  h = 5.5×0.64^6 ≈ 0.378 ≈ 0.4 . . . . feet

What is a possible value of sin(theta) when cos2(theta)=0.73?
Sindrei [870]
We use the following trigonometric identity to answer the question:
 sin^ 2 (theta) + cos^ 2 (theta) = 1
 We substitute the values:
 sin ^ 2 (theta) + 0.73 = 1
 We cleared:
 sin ^ 2 (theta) = 1-0.73
 sin ^ 2 (theta) = 0.27
 Answer:
 a possible value of sin ^ 2 (theta) is:

c.0.26 (nearest option)
