Francesca ran five times as many miles as sophia last year. They ran a total of 3,455 miles. How many miles did each girl run la
uysha [10]

Answer:

  • Francesca: 2879 1/6 miles
  • Sophia: 575 5/6 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

For each mile that Sophia ran, Francesca ran 5 miles. Then Sophia ran 1/6 of their total. Sophia ran ...

  (1/6)(3455) = 575 5/6 miles

Francesca ran the remaining miles:

  3455 -575 5/6 = 2879 1/6 miles
