Sandra throws an object into the air with an initial vertical velocity of 38 feet per second, from a platform that is 30 feet ab

ove the ground. How long will it take the object to hit the ground?
I know part of the equation to solve it, but I can't figure out the first bit:

h = _t^2 + 38t + 30

<span>To solve it, use the quadratic formula with (½)(-32.174 ft/s²) = a, 38 ft/s = b, and 30 ft = c. There are two answers; the only positive answer is t = 2.986 s </span>

At 1 p.m., there were 257 visitors in the museum.
trapecia [35]

Use function notation to represent this statement:

At 1 p.m., there were 257 visitors in the museum.

Answer:  V(4)=257

Explanation: It says that the Museum opens at 9 so it would be 4 hours. And the 257 is the number of visitors at that time.

The test scores of students in a math class are 46, 40, 50, 43, 35, 41, 50, 42, 38, and 48. What is the mean of this set of data
zimovet [89]
Mean is the average. You would add up all the numbers and divide by how many numbers you have.  433/10=43.3

Which points are on the graph of the function rule ƒ(x) = 10 – 4x? ( –18, 2), ( –10, 0), ( –2, –2) (18, –2), (10, 0), (2, 2) (–2
Artyom0805 [142]

(2, 2 ), (- 2, 18 ), (0, 10 )

substitute the x-coordinate of each point into f(x) and if the value is equal to the y-coordinate then it is on the graph of f(x)

(- 18, 2 ) ⇒ y = 10 + 72= 82 ≠ 2

(- 10, 0 ) ⇔ y = 10 + 40 = 50 ≠ 0

(- 2, - 2 )⇒ y = 10 + 8 = 18 ≠ 2

(18, - 2 ) ⇒ y = 10 - 72 = - 62 ≠ - 2

(2, 2 ) ⇒ y = 10 - 8 = 2 ⇒ (2, 2 ) is on graph

(- 2, 18 ) ⇒ y = 10 + 8 = 18 ⇒ (- 2, 18 ) is on graph

(0, 10 )⇒ y = 10 - 0 = 10 ⇒ (0, 10 ) is on graph

(2, - 18 ) ⇒ y = 10 - 8 ≠ - 18
