A cylindrical container with a radius of 5 cm and a height of 14 cm is completely filled with liquid. Some of the liquid from th

e cylindrical container is poured into a cone-shaped container with a radius of 6 cm and a height of 20 cm until the cone-shaped container is completely full. How much liquid remains in the cylindrical container?

Answer:

The remaining liquid has a volume of 345.4 cm³.

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question we first need to calculate the volume of each container.

Cylindrical:

Volume = h*pi*r² = 14*3.14*(5)² = 1099 cm³

Cone:

Volume = (1/3)*h*pi*r² = (1/3)*20*3.14*(6)² = 753.6 cm³

Since the liquid from the cylinder was transfered to the cone until the latter was full, then what remains in the cylinder is it's original volume minus the cone volume. So we have:

remaining liquid = 1099 - 753.6 = 345.4 cm³

AleksandrR [38]
Okay, let's work this out...
What we know:
-32 stamps in all
- rows (horizontal)
- same # in each
What we "want to know" :
- # of combinations (different)
Problem Solving :
This is actually very easy its just the words than get ya!
1st : we need to figure out the factors of 32...
In other words, we need to figure out _x_=32 and how many different combinations and ways there are!
Note:(* means multiplication)
#1: What are the factors of 32?
32: 1*32 , 2*16 , 4*8
32: 32*1 , 16*2 , 8*4
The factors (not including 1 are 2,4,8,16)
Now, as you can see, there are 4 ways to get 32 as shown first.
||||||||||||||||
||||||||||||||||
^
That ¦ is 1 way with 16 in 2 rows. Basic multiplication, 16*2=32 or 16+16=32.
But, this is also a way,
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
||
Now there should be 2 in each row and 16 rows. Again 2*16=32 or 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=32
That's two ways so far.
||||||||
||||||||
||||||||
||||||||
Another way which is 4 rows with 8 in each.
4*8=32 or 8+8+8+8=32
But, this is also a way,
||||
||||
||||
||||
||||
||||
||||
||||
Now that is 8 rows with 4 in each. 8*4=32 or 4+4+4+4+4+4+4+4=32
That was our fourth way.
Again NOT including 1. If you include 1 then there will be 6 ways but aside from that there are 4 ways.
I hope that helped I worked hard typing this all for you. Any questions just ask!

Red roses come 3 to a package, and white roses come 5 to a package. If an equal number of red and white roses are wanted to make
Katen [24]

Answer:

B :- 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A package of red rose contains = 3 pieces

A package of white rose contains = 5 pieces

If an equal number of red and white roses are wanted to make bouquets, what is the minimum number of each that can be purchased ?

Solution:

As here given that there are two types of package of roses, red roses come 3 pieces to each packet and white roses come 5 pieces to each packet and we have to find equal minimum number of  red roses as well as white roses to be purchased, we will simply find the Lowest common multiple of 3 and 5.

Multiples of 3 :- 3, 6, 9,12, 15, 18, 21, 24

Multiples of 5 :- 5, 10, 15, 20, 25

<em>Lowest common multiple is 15, that means </em><em>15 is the minimum number of pieces of each that can be purchased to make bouquets.</em>

And number of packets of red rose have to purchase = 3 \times <em><u>5</u></em> = 15, 5 packages.

And number of packets of white rose have to purchase = 5 \times <em><u>3</u></em> = 15 , 3 packages.

Joe has eaten 2/5 of a pizza. James has eaten 1/7. How many times more pizza has Joe eaten than James?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]
First let's make the denominators of the fractions equal.
To do this, we have to find a number which both 5 and 7 divide into.
The smallest number that does this is 35.

2  --> Multiply the numerator by 7
--
5  --> Multiply the denominator by 7 to get 35

= 14/35

1 --> Multiply the numerator by 5
--
7 --> Multiply the denominator by 5 to get 35

= 5/35

Joe has eaten 14/35 and James has eaten 5/35.
14 / 5 = 2.8

<u>Joe has eaten 2.8 (or 2 4/5) times more pizza than James.</u>
