Certain tubes manufactured by a company have a mean lifetime of 800 hours and a standard deviation of 60 hours. Find the probabi
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

given that certain tubes manufactured by a company have a mean lifetime of 800 hours and a standard deviation of 60 hours.

Sample size n =16

Std error of sample mean = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } \\= 15

x bar follows N(800, 15)

the probability that a random sample of 16 tubes taken from the group will have a mean lifetime

(a) between 790 and 810 hours,

=P(790

(b) less than 785 hours

=P(X

, (c) more than 820 hours,

=P(X>820)\\=p(Z>1.333)\\= 0.0913

(d) between 770 and 830 hours

=P(|Z|

What is an equation of the parabola with vertex at the origin and focus (0, 0.75)?
morpeh [17]

Answer:

x^{2} =3y

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that the focus is a points on the vertical axis, that means the parabolla opens vertically, and has the form

x^{2} =4py

Because the parameter p is positive and equal to 0.75. Additionally, the vertex is at the origin, that's why the equation is this simple.

Replacing the parameter value, we have

x^{2} =4(0.75)y\\x^{2} =3y

Therefore, the equation of a parabolla with vertex at the origin and focus at (0, 0.75) is x^{2} =3y.

I.) (5x+3)/4-(2x-4)/3=5
Clear fractions:
3·((5x+3)/4)=15x+9
4·((2x-4)/3)=8x-16
15x+9-(8x-16)=5
15x+9-8x+16=5
Combine like terms:
7x+25=5
7x=-20
x=-20/7

II.) (3/11)·(5/6)-(9/12)·(4/3)+(5/13)·(6/15)
Remember PEMDAS
So first multiply:
3/11·5/6=15/66
9/12·4/3=3/3·1/1=3/3=1
5/13·6/15=1/13·6/3=6/39=2/13
(15/66)-1+(2/13)
Combine:
15/66-1/1=15/66-66/66=-51/66
-51/66+2/3=-51/66+44/66=-7/66
Answer: -7/66 :)

DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

So first converthem into a deciaml if the number line is ordered by decimals or make them from least to greatest, left to right.

Decimal:

If asking for s decimal, the -1 is definitely the least so -1. For -5/7, it’s just -0.71 (rounded), for 2/7, its 0.28 and for 6/7 its 0.86.
