The Tiger's Whiskers is a Korean folktale by Bonnie Malouf. The following which describes the primary conflict in The Tiger's Whisker is Yun Ok wants to find a way to make her war-stricken husband kind and gentle again. 

Yun Ok gets an unexpected advice from a wise man and a young woman from Korea upon how to make her marriage strong and happy. Hence, this setting and outlines of the character prepare a conflict for the reader.  Therefore, this conflict causes the protagonist to act.
