Answer:

1.

a. 20 m²: barn door is 5m x 4m

b. 468 m²:surface area of barn

i. left and right barn walls: 2(15 x 7) = 210

ii. back wall: 7 x 8 = 56

iii. front wall: (7 x 8) - 20* = 36

*20 for the barn door

iv. front of roof: (4 x 4) / 2 = 8 x 2* = 16

*I split the triangle into 2 smaller triangles

v. sides of roof: 2(5 x 15) = 150

2.

a. 15 m²: silo door is 3m x 5m

b.  244.18 m²: surface area of silo

i. SA(silo)=2πrh+2πr²

ii. SA(silo) = 2π(2.5)(14) + 2π(2.5)²

iii. SA(silo) = 259.18

iv. SA(silo - door) = 259.18 - 15

v. SA(silo - door) = 244.18

3.

a. 712.18 m²: total surface area painted red

i. add both surface areas: 468 + 244.18 = 712.18 m²

hope this helps :)

HELPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Olin [163]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

All the sides are complete, hence we can use the information given to find just 1 triangle

Triangles

From the given information, we have that:

m<B = pi/6 = 30 degres

c = 10

b = 5

This shows that we can use the cosine rule to find the third side b of the triangle. Since all the sides are complete, hence we can use the information given to find just 1 triangle

d1i1m1o1n [39]
This is a sum that needs understanding the starting and the ending number first. then you should understand that between the starting and the ending number there has to be pairs of numbers with a difference of 0.75.
The numbers are:
10.75, 11.50, 12.25, 13.00, 13.75, 14.50.

The line l passes through the point P = (1,-1,1) and has direction vector d = [2,3,1]. Determine whether l and the plane 4x-y+5z
suter [353]
Hello :
the normal vector of the plane is : d' = [4,-1,5]...(vector  perpendicular to the plane)<span>
d </span><span>⊥ d' because : (4)(2)+(-1)(3)+(5)(1)=0
</span>the line is perpendicular to the plane .

If A and B are independent events with P(A) = .5 and P(B) = .2, find the following:a) P(A U B)b) P(A^c ? B^c)c) P(A^c U B^c)**No
Effectus [21]

If A and B are independent, then P(A\cap B)=P(A)P(B).

a.

P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A)P(B)

P(A\cup B)=0.5+0.2-0.5\cdot0.2

\boxed{P(A\cup B)=0.6}

b. I'm guessing the ? is supposed to stand for intersection. We can use DeMorgan's law for complements here:

P(A^c\cap B^c)=P(A\cup B)^c=1-P(A\cup B)

P(A^c\cap B^c)=1-0.6

\boxed{P(A^c\cap B^c)=0.4}

c. DeMorgan's law can be used here too:

P(A^c\cup B^c)=P(A\cap B)^c=1-P(A\cap B)=1-P(A)P(B)

P(A^c\cup B^c)=1-0.5\cdot0.2

\boxed{P(A^c\cup B^c)=0.9}
