Answer: If you have easy numbers like this, the problem os easy to solve. So, Ms J read 400 pages over 10 days, ms G read 240 pages to 5 day. We know that 5 if half of 10. If you make the numbers on days the same, but still increase the number of pages, you get, Ms G read more pages, by 20 pages a day.

1. Ms.G read more because in one day she read 48 pages vs. ms. J who read 40 pages.
2. I got this answer because I divided both by 5. The first thing I had to do was convert/simplify Ms.J to 200 pages in 5 days.

The table is missing though but you may consider the following calculations :

Y = 1.6 x
for x = 1 minutes
 Y = 1.6 laps
for x = 2 minutes
Y = 3.2 laps
for x = 3 minutes
Y = 4.8 laps

A $65 coat is now on sale for $52. What percent discount is given?
leonid [27]
20%, because if 65 is 100, then 52 is 80% out of 65; so 100 - 80 is 20
