Yes, it is already happening. About 270 million years ago the continents collided to form Pangea, and now, after the continents separated they continue to drift apart. Attached is a picture of what it may all look like when they recollide. Scientist are still not really sure.

All the mass we ever encounter is positive - nothing weighs less than zero. What makes us think charge is different that there a
egoroff_w [7]

Based on the number of positive and negative charges

<u>Explanation</u>:

  1. In a positive charge particle, the  number of proton is higher than the number of electron. Due to this fact alone, we can come to the conclusion that positive charge consists of more number of protons than electrons.
  2. In a negative charge particle, the  number of electron is higher than the number of proton. Due to this fact alone, we can come to the conclusion that negative charge consists of more number of electrons than protons.

Let r denote the distance between the center of the earth and the center of the moon. What is the magnitude of the acceleration
stepan [7]

Answer:

The magnitude of the acceleration ae of the earth due to the gravitational pull of the moon is \mathbf{3.3187\times10^{-5}}\frac{m}{s^{2}}

Explanation:

By Newton's gravitational law, the magnitude of the gravitational force between two objects is:

F=G\frac{Mm}{r^{2}}(1)

With G the gravitational constant, M the mass of earth, m the mass of the moon and r the distance between the moon and the earth, a quick search on physics books or internet websites give us the values:

M=5.972\times10^{24}\,kg

m=7.34767309\times10^{22}\,kg

r=384400\,km

G=6.674\times10^{-11}\,\frac{N\,m^{3}}{kg^{2}}

Using those values on (1)

F=(6.674\times10^{-11})*\frac{(5.972\times10^{24})(7.34767309\times10^{22})}{(384400\times10^{3})^{2}}

F\approx1.98193\times10^{20}N

Now, by Newton's second Law we can find the acceleration of earth ae due moon's pull:

F=M*ae\Longrightarrow ae=\frac{F}{M}=\frac{1.98193\times10^{20}}{5.972\times10^{24}}\approx\mathbf{3.3187\times10^{-5}}

A scuba diver, submerged under water looks up and seessunlight
maw [93]

Answer:

41.7975\ ^{\circ}

Explanation:

n_2 = Refraction index of water = 1.333

n_1 = Refraction index of air = 1

\theta_2 = Angle of sunlight = 30°

From Snell's law we have

\dfrac{n_1}{n_2}=\dfrac{sin\theta_2}{sin\theta_1}\\\Rightarrow \theta_1=sin^{-1}\dfrac{n_2sin\theta_2}{n_1}\\\Rightarrow \theta_1=sin^{-1}\dfrac{1.333sin30}{1}\\\Rightarrow \theta_1=41.7975\ ^{\circ}

The angle measured from the vertical does the sunlight strike thesurface of the water is 41.7975\ ^{\circ}
