Answer:

6.22 N/m

Explanation:

F=xk  Making k the subject of the formula then

k=\frac {F}{x}

But since the applied force F is mg then we substitute mg with F is the formula hence

k=\frac {mg}{x}

Converting the given mass from g to Kg, we divide it by 1000 hence m= 0.425 and taking g as 9.81 and substituting x with 0.67 m then

k=\frac {0.425\times 9.81}{0.67 m}=6.222761194\ N/m\approx 6.22\ N/m

Why does Quito, Equator has very little changes to the daylight hours<br> throughout the year?
marin [14]

Because of the position on the equator, the change in rotation of the Earth on its axis throughout the year doesn't affect it much. Unlike the poles, Quito is almost constantly in direct view of the sun. So, because of lack of change in rotation, the daylight hours are hardly varied as Quito is almost constantly in more or less the same spot in relation to the sun.

A 900 kg car moves around a 500 m radius curve at 25.0 m/s. What is the centripetal force on
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

9375 N

Explanation:

From the question,

Centripetal force (F) = mv²/r.................. Equation 1

Where m = mass of the car, v = velocity of the car, r = radius of the curve.

Given: m = 900 kg, r = 600 m, v = 25 m/s

Substitute these values into equation 1

F = (900×25²)/600

F = 9375 N.

Hence the centripetal force on the car is 9375 N

Describe a well-known hypothesis that was discarded because it was found to be untrue.earth-centered model of the universe. the
polet [3.4K]
The widely accepted hypothesis before that turned out wrong was the Earth-Centered theory or the Geocentric Theory. This was proposed by the philosopher Ptolemy. He came about to this hypothesis from hi observation that from the Earth's perspective, the celestial bodies like the Sun, stars and the moon, look like they rotate around the Earth each day and night. However, this was disproved by Galileo Galelei by his Heliocentric Theory. He observed through the telescope that the Venus also changes phases like the moon. However, he deduced that this is not possible from the positions of the Venus, Earth, Moon and Sun.

A ray of light travels across a liquid-to-glass interface. if the indices of refraction for the liquid and glass are, respective
prisoha [69]
When it comes to optics, Snell's law is the basic formula to be used. If you notice, when light hits the water, the light does not travel in the same direction. After, it hits the water, it changes in angle. Light becomes refracted. This is observed when your hands tend to become bigger if you place it underwater. The formula for Snell's Law is

n₁ sin θ₁ = n₂sin θ₂, where n is the index of refraction. This depends on the type of medium. For example, for air, n=1. The parameters θ₁ is the angle of incidence, and θ₂ is the angle of refraction. Critical angle is the incident angle needed so that the refract angle is 90°. So, modifying the equation:

n₁ sin θcrit = n₂sin 90°, since sin 90°=1,
sin θcrit = n₂/n₁
θcrit = sin ⁻¹ (n₂/n₁)

Since liquid comes first before glass, n₁=1.75 and n₂=1.52. Substituting,
θcrit = sin ⁻¹ (1.52/1.75)
θcrit = 60.29°
